The program, module by module
- Module 0
Choosing Your Certification
Study time: about 4 h · Prerequisites: none, apart from knowing how to open a spreadsheet, enter a formula and copy it down · What you will be able to do at the end: choose a belt and a type of certification with a weighted decision matrix, spot a doubtful training provider, cost your preparation in XOF (West African CFA francs), build a realistic calendar, negotiate your employer's support, and work with this course in a way that makes you retain what you learn for the long term, including for an exam in English.
- Module 1
Lean Six Sigma Fundamentals
Study time: about 6 h · Prerequisites: none, apart from percentages and proportions · What you will be able to do at the end: recognise the eight wastes in the field, calculate a starting performance (defects per unit, defects per million opportunities, sigma level, yields, cycle efficiency), decide whether an idea is a Green Belt project, and follow the DMAIC cycle.
- Module 2
The Define Phase
Study time: about 6 h · Prerequisites: Module 1, especially lesson 1.4 (choosing a project, the DMAIC cycle); no statistics needed · What you will be able to do at the end: turn a vague complaint into a framed, signed project: a charter and a SMART goal, customer needs translated into CTQs, a process bounded by a SIPOC, stakeholders mapped, priorities set with a Pareto chart, and a business case costed in XOF (West African CFA francs).
- Module 3
The Measure Phase
Study time: about 10 h · Prerequisites: modules 1 and 2 (project charter, CTQ, SIPOC), basic use of a spreadsheet · What you will be able to do at the end: map a process with its waiting times, plan and clean a data collection, describe a series of measurements and its uncertainty, validate a measurement system, then calculate and present the baseline capability.
- Module 4
The Analyze Phase
Study time: about 10 h · Prerequisites: modules 1 to 3, especially lessons 3.2 and 3.3 (data collection, mean, standard deviation, normal distribution, confidence interval) · What you will be able to do at the end: turn a list of opinions into a small number of causes verified by data, choose and read the right statistical test, then write a quantified conclusion for the sponsor that is honest about its limits.
- Module 5
The Improve Phase and Lean Tools
Study time: about 7 h · Prerequisites: modules 1 to 4, especially mapping and takt time (3.1), verified root causes (4.1), the Lean analysis of flow (4.2) and the choice of a hypothesis test (4.3 and 4.4) · What you will be able to do at the end: generate and then choose solutions with a traceable method, size a Lean flow (takt, balancing, kanban, SMED, OEE), put an error under control with a poka-yoke, read a designed experiment, then prove with a pilot that the solution works before rolling it out.
- Module 6
The Control Phase and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Study time: about 8 h · Prerequisites: module 3 (descriptive statistics, capability, measurement system analysis), module 4 (hypothesis tests), module 5 (solutions and deployment) · What you will be able to do at the end: tell common causes from special causes, build and read the usual control charts, write a control plan and a reaction plan, prove the gains, track them for twelve months and close a project cleanly.
- Module 7
Project Management and Change Management
Study time: about 5 h · Prerequisites: modules 1 and 2 (roles, project charter, SIPOC, stakeholder grid); the notions of mean and standard deviation from module 3 · What you will be able to do at the end: plan a Green Belt project (work breakdown structure, three-point estimate, critical path), track it with earned value, keep a risk register, lead a team and its meetings, diagnose resistance to change and present your results to a steering committee.
- Module 8
Blind Spots and Extensions
CertificationStudy time: about 6 h · Prerequisites: modules 1 to 7 (the full DMAIC cycle), and the descriptive statistics and hypothesis tests of modules 3 and 4 · What you will be able to do at the end: adapt Lean Six Sigma to a service, choose between DMAIC and DMADV, redo the same analysis in several tools, recognise seven statistical traps and defend a complete Green Belt project in front of a panel.
How long will it take me?
Duration: 60 h (estimated personal workload)
3 h/wk ≈ 20 wks
6 h/wk ≈ 10 wks
12 h/wk ≈ 5 wks
20 h/wk ≈ 3 wks
Estimates, not deadlines. Pause for a month and pick up where you left off.

What you deliver at the end
Study time: about 6 h · Prerequisites: modules 1 to 7 (the full DMAIC cycle), and the descriptive statistics and hypothesis tests of modules 3 and 4 · What you will be able to do at the end: adapt Lean Six Sigma to a service, choose between DMAIC and DMADV, redo the same analysis in several tools, recognise seven statistical traps and defend a complete Green Belt project in front of a panel.

Three levels, from simplest to most demanding. Each one only claims what it actually verifies.
Attendance certificate
Earned by: Modules followed
Proves: You followed the track — no graded assessment.
Certificate of achievement
Earned by: Full track completed on the platform, final project included, and final exam passed
Proves: Your knowledge and your final project, evaluated by the platform.
Field Practice Validated distinction
Earned by: A field challenge completed after the exam, in a real situation, with evidence
Proves: A CoursTech mentor reviewed and validated a genuine real-world application.
The distinction is added to your certificate of achievement — it never replaces it: nothing off-platform ever blocks the certificate itself.
Mentor support and validation: handled on request, within 72 business hours. If no mentor is active, the distinction stays open for 12 months as planned: no learner is penalized.
Mentor sessions: limited spots, on request. Reply within 48 h.
