Privacy policy
This page describes the personal data CoursTech collects and how it is used.
Data collected
Identity and contact details (first name, last name, email), learning progress data (modules taken, exercise answers, submissions), and, if you provide them, your contact details for business services.
Purposes
Managing your account and access to courses, tracking and certifying your progress, a mentor's review of the evidence submitted for the certification field challenge, organizing live sessions booked by appointment, improving course content, and communication related to your learning journey.
Legal basis for processing
Each purpose above rests on a distinct legal basis, in accordance with Law No. 2017-20 of April 20, 2018 on the Digital Code of the Republic of Benin (personal data protection): performance of the training contract between you and CoursTech (account management, access to courses, tracking and certifying progress); your explicit consent where required (e.g. publishing a testimonial or project on the talent wall, using the AI tutor); and CoursTech's legitimate interest in improving its course content, subject to your fundamental rights and freedoms.

Sub-processors and third-party services
Your data may be processed by our technical providers: Supabase (data hosting and authentication), Google (Gemini, for the AI tutor and exercise evaluation), ElevenLabs (lesson text-to-speech), FedaPay (card and Mobile Money payment processing), Resend (transactional email delivery). No data is sold to third parties.
Retention period
Your data is retained for as long as your account remains active, then for 3 years after its deletion or your last activity, unless a longer legal retention period applies. Evidence submitted for the certification field challenge (report, screenshots, documents) is kept for 12 months after the mentor's decision, then deleted — please anonymize it and obtain the consent of any person or organization involved before submitting anything. Information related to a live session booked by appointment (reason, details, attachments) is kept for 24 months after the session.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, object to, restrict, and delete your data, as well as a right to data portability. To exercise them, write to us at contact@courstech.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Benin's Personal Data Protection Authority (APDP).
Cookies and local storage
CoursTech uses the browser's local storage only for purposes strictly necessary to the site's operation (login session, language and theme preference) — no third-party analytics or advertising cookies are used at this time.
Certificates
The information on a certificate is public on the verification page: holder name, programme title, level, issue date and duration. No e-mail address, grade or exercise appears there. The holder can choose to show only their first name and the initial of their last name from their My account page.
